I found that if you park on front street the stays are 3 hours or you can park behind Channel 5 east side in their parking lot for free. Dick, I volunteer at the Ginger Rogers Theatre and sometimes I have to park there no limit there. Also the Parking Garage is 3 hours or more if you buy a $3 ticket for the whole day at the box when you drive in left, side for your info. I love my Clearwire it never has been down in the 3 years I've had it. I now have their phone service now and it does not affect my Internet speed that I thought would happen, it works just fine with my Internet, because it uses a different channel.

 Medford Aces "Happenings"

Clearwire Wireless Internet

Clearwire arrived in town with a different technique to get the Internet to you without wires added to your home. They use a Broadcast of Wireless Internet over the airwaves they have a Transmitter locally in Medford runs about 25 watts on 2.5 GHZ using the Cell Towers and the Manor for height with relay stations in Jacksonville, Central Point, and Medford they re-transmit it over the Valley on Cell Towers.

Cost is comparable to DSL "Telephone", they use the Telephone lines... "wires again", or cable for the TV more wires... with non English speaking Customer Service Personel.

You could conceivably use their Modem on the road if you were the passenger. It would not be very smart to use it to check your e-mail while driving like some do with their Cell phones ! There is one drawback that they want you to sign up for a year or two. I think it will be an advantage for me because I can bring my modem and hookup to my computer at the ACES and really have it up and running in an instant like last week the wireless at the Scottish Rite Center was down for 2 hours. All you need is a open Ethernet port on your Computer and it's off and running at 256kbps upload and 500kbps to 2.0kbbs download. They do have higher speeds but they are lots more expensive like $50/Month + the lease of Modem $5:00 extra. It's a proprietary modem so you could buy it, if you wanted to, not me at $300 bucks.

I the webmaster will be fielding on-line web sessions, or anything the audience at my table would wish to ask, within my field of knowledge so don't be afraid to ask questions, I am not afraid to tell you "I DON'T KNOW", because sometimes I don't.

If you are having problems with your Computer the best place to go is to your "PROVIDER" if they are local. My provider has the capability of helping you over the phone anytime 11 hrs 9:am to 10pm 7days per week. Other Providers can't do that for you and probably won't, either, that's been my experience. So think about why you have a provider, they should handle your problems for you... hey its their business, if they are to stay in business for the long haul...!
